Review
Kevin Brooks is one of my favourite young adult authors so I find it very easy to praise this book. The cover was the thing which attracted me in the first place although I read it in ebook form. The cover suggested mystery, a bit of sci-fi, and intrigue - it didn't disappoint.

The iBoy theme of the book runs throughout and never strays very far from any sub plots within the story. Kevin Brooks manages to convey it in a way which is believable even though you know it would never happen.

From the first page I was hooked, and the book moved at a pretty fast pace, full of entertainment, excitement, and shock. Thrown in for good measure are some comedic bits which are entwined with some quite dark bits. The author managed to get the balance just right although I'm not sure the young adult readers would get the funny parts as much as an adult would, or who they were really intended for.

I thought the language and wording used was very appropriate to the books genre - it didn't come across as though the author was trying too hard, and the characters were real, and fully developed. The book didn't leave you wondering what was going to happen next to certain characters which was nice considering we live in a world of series, sequels, and sets.

I loved this book and would recommend it across the ages from young adult upwards. It's a great read for both girls and boys alike. My youngest daughter is 11yrs old and thoroughly enjoyed it..
